Solid European oak double doors and frame. One of the most challenging jobs to create these lancet arch doors with tongue and groove double boarded and insulated. Finished door thickness 57 mm . Double glazed units 32 mm thick with bronze bar to match the Osmo oil 425. Pleased with the finished work and so was the client.
So here are the pictures of the recently fitted and made hardwood door all painted up and glazed. I’m really pleased with the encapsulated glass really sets of the entrance.
Quality custom made solid oak door and door frame made and fitted. The door is constructed using traditional Mortice, tenon and wedge joinery and is double boarded front and back with v grooved tongue and groove boarding and has 20 mm Celotex insulation inside the door.The finished thickness of the door is 58 mm and is very heavy safe to say it’s built to last.The door has a double glazed unit (oak leaf) to match.Two coats of 428 Osmo oil to complete this job.
External hardwood door made for a new client who wanted a simple but sleek design and to let in more light. Handmade using traditional Mortice and Tenon joints. Full draught proofing was built into the stops using the same hardwood material and added to the existing framework as there was no insulation seal on existing. Finished with two coats of Sikkens light oak.
Hand made solid oak external door and frame made to customers specification. The customer wanted more wood than glass and eventually settled on this unique design. Everything on this door design was pretty much doubled up with wood to what a normal pattern 10 door would have but we don’t do normal. All components glued and jointed and constructed using through Mortice & Tenon joinery. A special encapsulated double glazed leaded unit was designed and made. Finished with three coats of external Osmo 420 oil.
